Hello all.
Many people enjoy the pictures that I have above my blog posts. The majority of the pictures I post are carefully selected pictures I get from google images. I try my best to contact each photo and ask approval from the source when I can. Some of the other pictures you see of were taken by my sister Kimbundance. The picture above is from my sister Kimbundance. You can check out her amazing photography work HERE.

“A picture is worth a thousand words.”
-Napoleon Bonaparte

There is a little story that goes behind the pictures I’ve posted on my blogs.
This entire summer has been remarkable. This summer, I’ve been fortunate enough to have done a lot of traveling relatively close to California. This summer I’ve been lucky enough to travel to different parts of Arizona, Lake Tahoe, San Diego, and some really nice Orange County beaches such as Newport and Laguna Beach. While I was traveling, little did I know the pictures that I’ve carefully selected and admired that I had just grabbed from Google Images have began appearing to me in real life.

It was pretty amazing watching the whole thing unfold. I would be say in Arizona, visiting the Grand Canyon, and actually be standing right in front of the wonderful sight in real life, only to realize about 7-10 blog posts before, I had the exact same picture in one of my blog posts. This has happened in numerous occasions.
Life really does imitate art, and art imitates life…

Trying Too Hard: The T.T.H Disease & The Cure September 19, 2009

T.T.H DISEASE
Trying too hard is a disease. I call this the T.T.H disease. T.T.H stands simply for “Trying To Hard.” It’s a system that many people follow because in this ego based society we are always trying too hard to please everyone. When you try too hard you are given more and more challenges in life, that you unknowingly created. T.T.H is a disease that plagues a lot of people. Like any other disease, it can spread rapidly depending on the company you decide to keep. If you hang around with enough people that have this disease, if you aren’t consious of what is happening, you can begin to agree that this is a disease you also have. The hard part for most people is to let go of the T.T.H disease, once they are infected with it.

“He enjoys true leisure who has time to improve his soul’s estate.”
-Henry David Thoreau

WHERE T.T.H ORIGINATED
I believe that The T.T.H disease originated a very long time ago. I think that it started because someone back in history was so scared of the future that decided to past these thoughts of lack and scarcity to others. People followed suit because like courage, fear is also a strong human emotion. The T.T.H disease is something that you will experience in your life, but realize when it comes and how to work around this disease, and how to avoid it. This disease does have a cure, and it all begins and ends with your mindset. What are you putting your focus on? What are you trying to prove to others? Sit back relax. Go with the flow of life, or get swept away in a typhoon, of highly unconscious individuals that are trying hard for working for causes that lead to destruction.

“This art of resting the mind and the power of dismissing from it all care and worry is probably one of the secrets of energy in our great men.”
-Captain J. A. Hadfield

WHAT THE CURRENT ECONOMY IS TEACHING YOU

This current economy is collapsing and people are beginning to see that the old ways of doing things aren’t working like they used to. People are loosing jobs and loosing homes at record highs. The current economy is a real life example of what we need more of in this society.
I urge you to get creative. Take a new route, use your creative abilities to shine your inner light to the world. By taping into this creative energy deep within you, you will escape the T.T.H Disease. Think of the T.T.H Disease as the ideology that mainstream society wants from you. The only way to combat against it is to make society fit into what you want for you, and from that place you can offer much to the rest of the world.

“The Current Collapse in the U.S Economy Presents Tremendous Opportunity for Those That Are Prepared.”
-Baker

WHAT YOUR INNER CHILD KNOWS-THE CURE # 1

Begin now to focus on your inner creative child. This inner creative child has more potential than you probably are willing to admit at this moment, but realize that the new energy that is coming into this planet will abundantly support those that are operating from their creative child. Your inner child is the cure to the T.T.H Disease. Your inner child has wisdom that will take you to greater heights if you choose to let it in. It wants to play, it wants to create. As you begin to allow your inner child to speak louder to you than the wants of mainstream society, you will be entering a space that allows you to go with the flow of life, v.s against it. I am convinced that when you are feeling really good, and enthusastic about any current project you are working on, events, people and things are moving along in a very nice pace, this is physical evidence that you are following your inner creative child. Listening to that inner Child is the 1st cure to the T.T.H disease.

“All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”
-Pablo Picasso

DON”T SEEK APPROVAL-THE CURE #2
What I have noticed is that a lot of this disease comes from actively trying desperately to seek approval from others. I know it’s easier said than done, but when you really start basing your life from what you expect for yourself, and not the way that others want or expect from you, you will realize that seeking approval is actually pointless and serves no purpose. Think of it, the only real approval you’ll ever need is what you think of yourself, because if your fine with you, everything else flows naturally. When you are flowing naturally, not seeking approval from others, the T.T.H disease weakens as your spirit gets stronger. the T.T.H disease. When you are right with yourself, your outer world is right.
When you are approaching life proving nothing, you gain everything.

“People who want the most approval get the least and people who need approval the least get the most.”
Dr. Wayne Dyer

WHAT YOU FOCUS ON EXPANDS
I’m not saying don’t work hard. I won’t deny that hard work is essential for any worthwhile achievement. What I am saying is focus on your passions more. Focus on the good that comes out of you begin that creative child that brings light to the world. As you focus on your passions work becomes play. This is the secret that most people don’t tell you, because they more than likely have been unconsciously affected by the T.T.H disease. Also don’t place your focus on “who” or “wha”t gave the disease to you. Just work on getting better. When you have the flu, do you fret and focus on pointing blame on “who” passed the flu onto you? No. you focus on healing yourself first. The pain of having a flu is so much, that any fresh breath or signs of healing will feel better. Focus on doing good for you, and as you focus on doing good for you, the T.T.H disease will gradually disappear. Soon enough you will be surrounded with like minded individuals that are free from this disease, and consciously choose to live at a more positive, and higher dimension. Give to yourself more and breathe clean air (metaphorically). What you focus on expands.

SIMPLE RECIPE FOR BEYOND SUCCESS:
POSITIVE ATTITUDE+POSITIVE ACTION= BEYOND SUCCESS

There is a very simple recipe for a life of Beyond Success. A Positive attitude + Positive Action= Beyond Success.
It’s really that simple.

I think we live in a day and age where things are getting way too complex. The reason I believe that as a society we try to make things too complex, is because we tend to forget how simple the natural laws of the universe really work. Some of the basic universal laws are based on ideas such as: “As you sow, so shall you reap,” or “As you think, so shall you be.”
I believe each one of you is called for a great purpose. I believe each one of you has that desire for a better more expansive fuffilling lifestyle. That is the only reason I want to give and teach this simple recipe to you. I believe if you, take this and utilize everyday you will soar to great heights you never thought possible in your wildest dreams.

“The simplest things are often the truest.”
-Richard Bach

Ever since I moved out here to Arizona, I slowly began to realize how simple this process really is. It took me traveling to a different state to go back to the very basics of why I created Baker The Brand, wrote my own book, and why I even started a blog to begin with.

HAVE THE SPECIFIC GOAL

You have a very specific goal. You develop a positive attitude towards this goal and take positive action. You do this on a consistent basis, and surround yourself with people with similar goals than you and you are all set for beyond success.
I understand that there will be roadblocks and challenges along the way, but honestly, it’s just temporary. If you stick to this really simple formula… Positive Attitude+Positive Action=Beyond Success, I can guarantee with certainty you will be achieving more in a short period of time than most people. You will begin to really be living an amazing life when you stick to this formula, because this is the formula I use, and it works every time. If you have a bad day and things don’t go your way, just keep this very simple formula around where you can see everyday, and let that act as reminder to continue pressing on in your personal journey to a beyond successful lifestyle.

“As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness.”

-Henry David Thoreau

The formula is so simple that you may tend to forget it, because let’s admit it we live in a day and age where it’s easy to get down on all the crazy things happening in the world. But the person that really gets this message, and sticks to this simple formula will go beyond success.
If you are like me, and you read any inspirational self help, personal development book. This simple formula is found in 100% of each of these great individual’s story. There isn’t any truly remarkable story that didn’t somewhere have this formula in it.

The person that stays positive and takes positive action towards their goal, will hit it, and experience beyond success.

Sticking With Your Talents-What is Your Bread & Butter? September 6, 2009

bread_and_butter

Hello.
Writing these blogs is where I feel most comfortable and at ease on a creative level.
I consider myself an above average blogger, because I enjoy writing. This enjoyment is proof enough for me to continue on. My bread and butter is writing these blogs and specifically personal development blogs that inspire others to grow consciously.

TRULY TALENTED INDIVIDUALS

I happen to know some truly talented individuals who are exceptional at singing. I get really inspired hearing them sing, because I can at times, really feel the enjoyment and passion in their voice as they are singing. These talented individuals know their bread and butter, and they stick to their talent. I am in awe at times listening to great musicians, really going out and sharing their talents, and passion. However for me, I know that if I really tried singing I probably wouldn’t be very good at it, because it’s not something I personally truly have a passion for, nor the natural talent.

I also know amazing people who are really good at organizing and planning. These people can take something that may look really complex for me personally, and break it down into tangible organized planning, that end up with positive results. I am mediocre with organizing and planning, because it’s not something I truly have a passion for. I truly admire individuals who have a strong talent in organizing and planning, but if I tried to step to their level I know realistically I wouldn’t be as efficient in that area as they would be.

“Put your talent into your work, but your genius into your life”
-Oscar Wilde

MY BREAD AND BUTTER
For now, my “bread and butter” is in writing blogs. This blog is what I go back to when I need a creative outlet for myself. Even if I haven’t posted on here much of late, I know that I can always go back to this creative form, to get my creativity out of me. I really enjoy writing blogs, because it allows me to share and provide positive value to my readers. I stick to my bread and butter, because this is where my energy is needed at this particular time in my life. It may change as I grow, (perhaps into public speaking ) But for now, this is where I feel I can operate at my best. My ability to write and provide positive value at the same time is very exciting for me. Providing positive value to me is enjoyable. Some people may not enjoy providing positive value, and may like doing many other things. I want you to understand that whatever you are really good at doing, enjoy it to the max and stick with it. Don’t worry too much about what other people are really good at, and focus on what you are really good at. Expand your talents. You were given these talents for a reason.

Another talent I have, that most people that personally know me are aware of, is that in person I’m a pretty funny guy. I enjoy making people laugh. I have a humors side that comes out at random, and I think the fact that it’s random is what makes it even more funny…lol. It’s something I don’t even really try hard at, and don’t even notice when I’m doing it! It really is very easy for me to make light of any situation. My humor is another bread and butter for me in more social situations. I tap into my humors side to feel more comfortable. I like to use humor to open up conversations and break the ice with all different types of people. I believe that with a good laugh, people’s guards are usually let down and I get to strike up really nice conversations with the individual on more grounded terms.

“True happiness involves the full use of one’s power and talents.”
John W. Gardner

I have several talents, but I stick to what works at the moment. This topic is very of reminiscent of when I used to play basketball. I knew that my bread and butter was my mid range jumpshot. I knew that if I shot a mid range jumpshot 8 time out of 10, I would make the basket. I was talented in other offensive areas such as driving it into the hole, and long range shooting, but my bread and butter was the mid-range shot. I can count on it, when I needed it. It was a comfortable spot for me.

SHARE YOUR TALENT
Starting out, It’s also important to experiment and try new things. You really never know where your real talents are if you never really gave it try in the first place! However if you are fortunate enough to have, found a few talents you are really good at, I urge you to stick with those main ones. Those main talents will become your bread and butter. Also, don’t be afraid to show it to others. Showing your talent to others whether it be singing, dj-ing, dancing, organizing, leading, humor etc…Show it to people, because you never know how many people actually get inspired by you sharing your talents!

“Hide not your talents, they for use were made. What’s a sun-dial in the shade?”
-Benjamin Franklin
