How To Dream Big, When Everyone Around You Doesn't July 22, 2009

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
-Eleanor Roosevelt

Hello all.

WE NEED BIG DREAMERS TODAY

Dreaming big is something we all need more of in this society. Big dreamers that take action on their dreams are the people in this society that make things happen. If you are a big dreamer, I ask you to take a moment of silence and sincerely congratulate yourself. There aren’t too many out there, but if you are a big dreamer, I send my most sincere and honest honor. The reason I send you my most sincere and honest honor, is because most big dreamers especially at the very beginning, are generally surrounded by people that don’t really believe in them much. Look back in history and most of all high achievers somewhere in their early careers were met with many naysayers. Only to eventually turn those naysayers into believers. It’s not a great feeling having visions and big goals and everyone around you thinking you are “crazy.” Yet, this is how it usually all begins. The truth is that it takes a lot of courage to dream big and follow through. Part of the reason is also because the bigger the dream, the more critics you may attract…

However, the people that don’t believe in your dreams are actually just mirrors of your own self doubt. So there is a special reason that is there. Take time to thank and be grateful for people that challenge your dreams, as they are really there to make you better.
Express your gratitude, be thankful and push forward. You are capable of realizing your big dreams, with enough enthusiasm, time, and energy. You are capable of it, because I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, and those big dreams come to you for a special purpose. I know that the special purpose and reason is for you to follow them. Everything that we admire and look at with awe all started out with someone who had a big dream. Be that person for others. I ask that when you are faced with the opportunity to follow your dream or follow the crowd, follow your dream.

This day and age we are seeing more people take chances, because they are beginning to see the bigger picture. The bigger picture is allowing people to really get clear on their goals and finding out what really matters to them at this point in their lives. As they become clear on what really matters in their life, they begin to take the small action steps necessary to follow their big dreams.

“You see things; and you say “Why?” But I dream things that never were; and I say “Why not?”
* George Bernard Shaw

THE REASON BEHIND A BIG DREAM

I think that many people place too much importance on trying to reach for a dream for the sake of trying to prove something. I don’t think that trying to prove something should be the real reason to chase a dream. Chase a dream, because it’s exciting for you, and because it can make a positive difference in people’s lives. In my world, chasing a dream is about an inner sense of fulfillment and knowing that you gave the best of what you were capable to give at the time. It really has nothing to do with proving something, because the act of trying to prove something is ego based, and only brings about temporary highs.

NOT TRYING TO PROVE ANYTHING
The idea of not trying to prove anything, and being true to yourself and achieving your big dreams and your own sense of inner fulfillment is actually the foundation of my book. I also speak a lot about the difference of the U.S mainstream version of success, and what I call Beyond Success on my book:

sedona1

Hello all.

This week I will be traveling to Sedona Arizona. I’ve been looking forward for this trip for a few months now.
I will be visiting Sedona, Arizona with my family. It will be my first time visiting, and I want to make sure that I get the most out of the experience, and looking to it more for the spiritual experience more than anything else. Some say that Sedona is the spiritual Mecca of the U.S.A. There is a certain energy that the red rocks in Arizona hold. I am curious to find out for myself this energy that is presented here. It’s about a six hour drive from where I live.

I want to make sure that I still get my M.I.T’s done during the trip. It’s strange once you are really focused on achieving goals like myself, even during vacations, where a majority of people simply make it a main focus to simply relax, I still have the drive to get stuff done, but more in a relaxed manner.
I feel this trip will be a real eye opener for me, and hopefully I will be coming back with a new sense of inspiration, and great insights to share with you all.

Blessings in abundance,

Why Trying To Do Everything Leads To Accomplishing Very Little & My Time Managment Technique July 10, 2009

check-list

Hello all.

I don’t try to do everything. I only focus on a small percentage of things during the day that I have decided to be of prime importance. What I do is, before I go to bed every night I set up a list of 3 M.I.Ts. An M.I.T stands for Most Important Tasks. I decide the day before what my most important tasks are for the given day. Keep in mind these 3 tasks may not the easiest or most fun things to do during the day, but they are important to have complete before the day is over.

After I complete each one, I cross out the task from my list. At this time I take a very short break and go on to the next task, and so on. After completing my 3 Most Important Task, I go to my calender and mark and X for the day. This X on the day is a signal to me that I’ve completed my tasks for the day. The simple act of marking the X on my calendar gives me an honest sense of accomplishment and security. It makes me feel good knowing I completed what I set out for that day. This in turn builds momentum and confidence for the following day, and tackle the new challenge.

After completing my 3 M.I.Ts I can relax a little bit and consume information and learn new things. This is a relaxing and fun process as I do enjoy learning new things and like to constantly stay on top of the latest and up to date information. Once again this method is not intended to try to try do “everything” rather it is intended to do only a small portion of Most important task each day, which ultimately leads to more production, not less.

As the month comes to an end, and I look at my calendar as a whole, (if followed through correctly) there is an even bigger sense of feeling accomplished and a peace of mind for that month. This calendar technique gradually keeps me accountable and on track towards my bigger ultimate life goals.

“One does not accumulate but eliminate. It is not daily increase but daily decrease. The height of cultivation always runs to simplicity.”
-Bruce Lee

Trying to do everything leads to accomplishing very little, because you are too open to the needs and wants of so many people. If you try to be everywhere, you might end up not being anywhere. Stay present, and don’t be afraid of eliminating the clutter that isn’t yielding the results that you really want for yourself. Focus on doing the 3 Most Important Things that matter to you at the start of each day, and you will begin to see that only very little matters in your life. This attitude of focusing on that small percentage ironically leads to bigger more rewarding results for you in your personal life.

-Anonymous

My Concern With What A Majority of People Are Doing

What a majority of people do is that they aren’t clear on what are their most important tasks are, because they aren’t clear on their values. When you are clear on what you value you will be in a better position to operate more effectively on the Most Important Tasks of each day. I think society places such a huge importance of having and doing things that people tend to forget who we are in the process. Being who you are and contributing from within is the true path of the Beyond Successful individual. Don’t let this messed up society determine that for you, all those answers are inside you, take time to listen to it. The goal of my blogs is to get people clear on their values. Getting clear on what really matters to them, recognizing their dreams and true aspirations.

“You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself”
-Galileo Galilei

This Blog Is A Starting Place For a Solution

I hope these blogs serve as inspiration for people to follow their dreams and although I am not a “How To Guy.” I consider my material more inspirational, idealistic and thought provoking. With that said, I hope the example of my personal time management daily agenda, proves to be a real example of how you can take big dreams and turn those into very doable small action steps that put you into action towards realizing your ultimate dream, to be, do, and have what you want in life.

Go Completely Opposite of Society and Win In Life July 7, 2009

festival_of_books

“Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”
-Albert Einstein

Hello all.
You stand a much better chance at winning n life if you go completely opposite of what society wants from you. When you conform to what society wants from you on a daily basis, you actually become a victim to being like everyone else. I don’t know about you, but being like everyone else has a lot of drawbacks.

“Listen to society and fall, listen to your spirit and ball.”
-Baker

Have fun and do exactly the opposite of what society is teaching you. Society is teaching you to be like them so that the people at the top can win big. Why not be the person on the top winning.
Listen, this day and age we need more courage and less fear, because the world is changing fast. Don’t try to keep up with the people that aren’t at your level. Push forward, be you all day every single day. A lot of the news on television are used as scare tactics. The best advice I received at a young age is to go opposite of what they are saying in the news, and see what amazing opportunities emerge.

“Fortune favors the brave.”
-Publius Terence

You have a better shot at winning in life, if you be what society doesn’t want you to be. Play by your own rules. Live how you were destined to live, not what some television show is trying to get you to be. The true winners in life operate from their spirit based knowledge, and not ego needs. The ego needs to feel alive and society places a great opportunity for the ego to survive. Society rewards the ego time and time again, so I don’t blame people for buying into the path that leads ultimately to destruction. However the higher consious individual understands this and takes a stand, and artfully moves in the direction of the soul. Let go of this need and desire to be like everyone, this is not the style anymore. Be you, and grow at the pace you know is best for you. Don’t let this twisted society determine where you should be. You know the answer to this, what you focus on expands. Go inward and let the outward manifest the way it is supposed to.
Life has no boundaries when you see the world as an inspired individual. Go completely opposite of society and win in life.

Hello all.
After months of working on my book, I am happy to announce my book is now out published and ready for purchase. I just want to thank all the people that made this blog happen. The support of my readers have ultimately helped launch the completion of the book. A lot of the wisdom expressed here on Beyond Success-Baker Blog, are ideas expressed in the book, but more organized and concise. It’s a book that I honestly didn’t write myself, but it was a book that my “higher-self” wrote. So the words are coming from a much higher place than “myself.” As you read through the book you will feel the authenticity and honesty of the words. There is wisdom and knowledge here presented on this book that will guide you to be, do, and have what you want during these current times. I am big reader of several self-help and personal development books, and a lot of the ideas I express here were tools that I’ve come to understand and that have worked for me personally.

Please purchase your own copy of the book HERE.

Thank you all for all the positive energy and amazing support.
I look forward to hearing what you all of you think about the book!

With Gratitude,

+Baker
