Limits of Responsibility and Control January 28, 2008

Today I wanted to write on Responsibility and Control.

Majority of individuals often falsely believe that they have vast amounts of control over others. Due to these false beliefs, they are convinced in their mind, that they are therefore responsible for the many things that (in reality) are actually out of their control. So what happens are feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, a sense of out-of controlness, and guilt.

People are thus encouraged to consider the ideal that the only true control anyone has over anything is over themselves–more precisely over their own thoughts, feelings and actions. This concept is hard for the majority of individuals who always need to feel in control over others. This ideal may totally contradict the persons perception of typical guilt/blame dynamics. The idea of human beings being fully responsible for themselves and what they do control is easier said then done.

We are fully responsible for our own thoughts, feelings and actions,. while others are fully responsible for their own thoughts feelings and actions. In essence, while we are fully responsible for how we react to others, we are not at all responsible for how others react to us.

The advantages of adopting and incorporating this perspective include: 1. an enhanced sense of personal power. 2. clarification of boundaries between self and others, 3. far less general overwhelm. 4. A vast reduction in guilt/blame dynamics. 5. An increased ability to find compassion for all human beings.

Hi all.

I wanted to share with you this great piece written by Mahatma Gandhi. The words in Gandhi’s Resolution are very powerful and just a profound reflection of the empowered life that he experienced.

Here it is:

Mahatma Gandhi’s Resolution

Let the first act of every morning be to make the following resolve for the day:

I shall not fear anyone on earth.

I shall fear only God.

I shall not bear ill toward anyone.

I shall not submit to injustice from anyone.

I shall conquer untruth by truth.

And in resisting untruth, I shall put up with all suffering.

NOTEABLE INDIVIDUALS THAT APPLIED AND UNDERSTOOD THE (SECRET) LAW OF ATTRACTION

The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear.

Who Knows Positive Mentor? January 16, 2008

Do you know a positive Mentor?

If you have a successful mentor and follow his/her footsteps and “model” I think you should stand a good chance of much success. It goes back to the idea of not re-inventing the wheel. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I mean A lot of individuals come into the world coming into the game try all these new things with no avail. Follow the leader and adjust accordingly.

Anthony Robbins famous motivational speaker believes : To gain improvements quickly and step up to a new level of achievement, Robbins believes learning from others who are the best in their field is the fastest way to achieve success. He told the story of how he wanted to improve his tennis game and so employed Andre Agassi, the then number one ranked player to help him achieve this.

An earlier blog I wrote was about copying. Copying and Modeling after someone are two different things. Copying is trying to be the other person, (which is impossible) Modeling on the other hand, is taking the good that you see from that other person and implementing into how you go about your business. You know that you are Modeling a mentor when you see positive results after doing so. You know your copying someone else when it doesn’t feel natural or easy, and the results aren’t making you happy.

Who could you model yourself on?

Setting an Intention January 14, 2008

Most of you are asking me, well how do you set an intention. Is this something difficult to do ? No. Setting an intention is very simple. We consciously or unconsciously set intentions everyday. It’s a simple as setting some time to think about what you want. But you have to think about and feel that what you are intending for has already come. This may take some practice but once you begin to see it coming in physical form you will have confidence in this, thus making setting intentions easier.

Here are the easy steps on setting an intetion:

1. Sit quietly alone

2. Relax and breathe in and out.

3. Think about and get clear about something you really want

4. Focus on it as if you already had it, feel the positive emotions that you will have once you receive it.

5. Go about your day

Setting intentions work only when you believe you can actually have whatever it is you are seeking. If you are telling yourself you can’t have it then you won’t. We live in a universe of energy. Our dominant thoughts create a certain energy, positive or negative. And depending on what we focus on we get. Like energy matches with like energy. You only attract into your life that which you are inside.

Caution: Intentions when applied correctly do work! Please use your intentions with great responsibility and only for the good and well-being of others!

Mind Not Environment Determines Success January 4, 2008

Mind not environment determines success. It is within ones mind alone, not environment that breeds success.

Let me give you an example if someone that comes from an unfavorable background (broken family, abuse, drugs, ghetto, illness, etc.) and still becomes a success, that is strength in mind. Same is true if someone was raised in a “favorable” environment. (Money, love, peace, joy etc). Yet if the child from this favorable environment does not except in his mind of success, he will not become successful.

The hard part for some individuals is excepting this reality. The reality that we have many different opinions of how we should live our lives. Our environment and the people in it are constantly either at a conscious or unconscious level keeping us informed as to how our lives should be designed. But at the end of the day, it’s what we in our own mind believed to be true that actually manifests into reality.
I believe that the people that have those rag to riches stories about coming from nothing to eventually becoming great, happens for a reason. The reason that it happens is because in the mind of someone who really wants to be successful they believe in themselves like there is nothing else to believe in, thus doing whatever it takes to get to where they want to be. They become great because they did not let their not so pleasant negative environment bring them down, they were wise enough to use it as fuel for the fire. They believed that anything is possible if you first believe it is so, and the actions follow accordingly.

In conclusion all is mind. It is what you think you are on a constant, on-going basis that determines how your life will play out. I am convinced that the will of ones mind will win over ones environment.

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.
